Golf in SLOToday is Day 24 of the 25 Days of SLO Digital Adventure through San Luis Obispo with me, The Leesh!

There is ONLY 2 more days left!!

Today, we are hitting the links in SLO. Now, I am personally not a golfer. I enjoy the driving range and about four holes, but then I am done. But that doesn’t mean I can’t highlight some of the amazing courses in SLO.

There are some spectacular courses all over the county including the Avila Beach Golf Resort if you want some spectacular ocean views. Sea Pines Golf Resort is another awesome course in Los Osos. Dairy Creek Golf Course is also a great course with student specials and late in the day discounts. And for the closest course to town, Laguna Lake is where my husband enjoys to play a round or two.

No matter where you go, you will be surrounded by the beauty that is SLO. In my picture above is the Los Osos course, Sea Pines, where it can get fogged in from time to time, as you can see, so make sure to bring a jacket. Enjoy!

Day 11 Shop SLOcalToday is Day 11 of 25 Days of SLO Digital Adventure through San Luis Obispo with me, The Leesh! Today, we are adventuring to Higuera Street and beyond! Downtown San Luis Obispo, is quite an amazing little spot for burning some excess cash and it is in quite a lovely setting, so even if you just grab a coffee and wander around, it is an amusing way to spend the day.

I can’t tell you how many afternoons I have spent shopping and eating and people watching downtown. Just because I feel like I should impart some of my local foodie wisdom on you, I will give you a brief rundown of my favorite places to go (all equally delicious & fun): Ciopinot (seafood amazingness), Chino’s (rock and tacos), Yogurt Creations!, Mondeo Pronto, Mama’s Meatballs, Novo, Firestone, Woodstock’s… and so many more.

Ok wait- I realize that I just listed a bunch of restaurants and not “shop” shops, so you can probably tell where I spend all of my money. But for those of you who actually leave room in your budget for clothes and fun items… there is plenty of the regular shops like, Express, Abercrombie, Urban Outfitters, Sports Authority, Gap etc. However, the real fun is the quirky little local shops that you cannot find anywhere else, like Fanny Wrappers, Coverings, Lucky Lu Lu’s, Avanti, Simply Mama and the list goes on.

If you want to see a complete list of shops and businesses, just go to the downtown association’s website here.

25DaysofSLO - Bike Bob Jones TrailToday is Day 4 of 25 Days of SLO Digital Adventure through San Luis Obispo with me, The Leesh!. Today, we are adventuring down the Bob Jones Trail that leads to Avila Beach.

If you have never ventured down this trail, it really is beautiful. The shady pathway is lined with lush landscapes and wildlife, which is a perfect afternoon activity for family outings, first dates, or 1,00th dates. The trail is relatively flat and very moderate, so bikers, walkers and runners of all levels can enjoy this trail.
The trail starts off Highway 101 by taking the Avila Beach exit and heading towards the water. Turn right onto Ontario Rd and you will see a parking lot off to the right. The trail starts right across the street.

The trail follows the railroad along the SLO Creek and dumps you off at the beach/pier area in downtown Avila, which is super cute! There are shops and restaurants. Grab a coffee or sip some wine while you stroll around. A personal favorite of mine is to have some calamari and a glass of Chardonnay at the Olde Port Inn overlooking the waves. It’s pretty fantastical!

If you don’t have your own bike you can always rent one. There are rental places. Or you can just walk, scoot, skate or run. Just in case you get hungry along the way, there is a little market with snacks that is available on the way. mmmhmm!
