25DaysofSLO - Bike Bob Jones TrailToday is Day 4 of 25 Days of SLO Digital Adventure through San Luis Obispo with me, The Leesh!. Today, we are adventuring down the Bob Jones Trail that leads to Avila Beach.

If you have never ventured down this trail, it really is beautiful. The shady pathway is lined with lush landscapes and wildlife, which is a perfect afternoon activity for family outings, first dates, or 1,00th dates. The trail is relatively flat and very moderate, so bikers, walkers and runners of all levels can enjoy this trail.
The trail starts off Highway 101 by taking the Avila Beach exit and heading towards the water. Turn right onto Ontario Rd and you will see a parking lot off to the right. The trail starts right across the street.

The trail follows the railroad along the SLO Creek and dumps you off at the beach/pier area in downtown Avila, which is super cute! There are shops and restaurants. Grab a coffee or sip some wine while you stroll around. A personal favorite of mine is to have some calamari and a glass of Chardonnay at the Olde Port Inn overlooking the waves. It’s pretty fantastical!

If you don’t have your own bike you can always rent one. There are rental places. Or you can just walk, scoot, skate or run. Just in case you get hungry along the way, there is a little market with snacks that is available on the way. mmmhmm!

Stay tuned for to continue on this digital adventure with me during the #25DaysofSLO and vote for Alycia Schaefer for SLO Ambassador!
