25DaysofSLO Day 2Today is Day 2 of 25 Days of SLO Digital Adventure through San Luis Obispo. Today, I am highlighting a “Tasty Treat of SLO” that has helped put San Luis Obispo on the map.

When visiting the Central Coast, I highly suggest spending a day visiting the local wineries in Edna Valley. There are now over 30 wineries in the immediate area and some pretty phenomenal wines! With over 3,000 acres of vines int he county, there is bound to be some stellar blends out there. (And i have personally sampled many of them!) SLO’s mild climate with ocean breezes allows for the perfect growing climate for wine grapes. The mild climate allows means the grapes are slower to ripen and build flavor over a longer period of time, which means- rich, deep flavors that are very smooth!

Some of our family favorites include Wolff Vineyards -amazing Pinots, Chardonnay and a Riesling that is the perfect sweetness! Make sure to say hi to Brixie, the winery dog for me!  Tolosa has some fancy pinots and nice patio. When the sun is out, ask an employee for the boccee ball set and play on the lawn! Another tasty favorite is Baileyana for their Chardonnay. The former school house converted into tasting room has lots of character and they feature 2 other labels in house for maximum tasting capacity!

Stay tuned for the next 24 days to continue on this digital adventure with me during the #25DaysofSLO and vote for Alycia Schaefer for SLO Ambassador!
